Boywonder - Apparently, I've missed that feature of the charge wizard. I thought it was compatible only with wet cells. Either way, without temperature monitoring, I'm not comfortable letting the 9160 do the charging duties on AGMs.

Greg - Thanks for the response. That clears things up and makes me think that an inverter/charger will be the best way to go.

Going back to the original question on isolating the battery from charging after fully charged. I currently have this installed on my van, this gives me total control over my system. This was somewhat prompted by the possibility of moving to Lithium batteries.



I put together a google slide show to run through the reasoning of this.
