We have only had the van a few days, but on day one I met my wife for lunch out by Lakeway on a nice sunny day. Our two solar panels were cranking out juice for us. I decided to check the Blue Sky and found it to be VERY hot.
Is this normal? Has anyone else seen this?

I haven't noticed what you describe, but I haven't exactly actively checked it out either. I have checked the voltage and current output on the controller display, so I think I would have noticed any excessive temps.

I've never used the BlueSky for solar- could it have been the sun/heat coming through the side of the van, where the blueSky didn't have insulation or something?
I suppose it could have been.... but it was at a time when the sun was almost at its apex....the van is white,...and the exterior of the van was nowhere near that hot.
This was VERY hot.
Today SMB TX put some additonal spacers on the mounting hardware to allow a little more airflow.

That sounds like a Band-Aid, and not a solution to a condition. Is there anything in the Blue-Sky Controller owner's manual or on their website addressing high temps?

My BlueSky is almost cool to the touch and it runs all the time. I don't know how much clearance it has but it is in a fairly small space with the inverter control panel.
