Blueseas ACR + dual alternators = yea/ nea?

With my 01 E350 and its dual alternators, each are 130 amp can I even consider the Blueseas ACR?

If so how?

Thank you.

Re: Blueseas ACR + dual alternators = yea/ nea?

Is your concern that 260 amps of alternator total current exceeds the current rating of the separator?

Keep in mind that the current that an alternator puts out at any given time is driven by the impedance (resistance) of the attached load. So, unless your house batteries are significantly drained there will be few instances of cranking out 260 amps.

The specs for the ML-ACR are 500 amps continuous.......so plenty of headroom.

It appears that the other ACR products have a 120A rating.......

Re: Blueseas ACR + dual alternators = yea/ nea?

Why not just split the alternators? Have one for the van, and one for house side? That could be a possibility also. Just a thought. Like Boywonder said the chances that you would ever dump 260 amps to the house should be almost non existent, besides the fact that your wiring would most likely be the weak link so you should fuse for that.

Re: Blueseas ACR + dual alternators = yea/ nea?

I have considered splitting the alternators up, but I have no clue how to do that or what's involved...
Care to enlighten me? Also is it okay to do that since Ford specifically designed it?
