Get yourself some adhesive lined shrink tube to cover up all of your connections too.

For sure!! Just for posterity sake I a gonna stick with Ancor products.

Great feedback on the wire differences.
Thanks

Good discussion on the wire size. Was going to buy jumper cables from Home Depot to use for my wire. Turned out they were copper clad aluminum.

Re fuses: IIRC it is not the house load that you have to size the breaker for. It is the short circuit amps. The Blue Sea calculator has you input the battery CCA so it can size the fuse.

Does anyone have a photo showing how they are attaching the wires from the inverter to the battery terminals (2 gauge or 4 gauge)?

I have 4/0 from the house battery bank to the area where the inverter is mounted. SMB terminated the 4/0 on a stud junction block that is mounted to the body. The power stud serves as the connection point for the inverter and a jumper that connects to the separator.

So that's a pretty big inverter then!

So a quick conversation with David and Lifeline Batteries confirmed that a healthy 4D battery at 50% will pretty much suck up all the amps it can at least for a little bit.

He also suggested welding cable. Would that be OK under the van?

I guess 20 feet of run is kind of long, but that's how the numbers go from the starter back to the house battery.

It's only 2str copper from the insulated stud to the separator. The inverter is 2000w so yeah 4/0 is a bit overkill.

I am running this wire I picked up off Amazon from the starter battery back to the house battery.
SoundBox Connected 0 Gauge It is CCA but has really good coating and is flexible. I have used a lot of CCA wire in AC applications with no issues so I wasn't to concerned about that.

I am using the Stinger SGP32 200 AMP Battery Relay Isolator and Relay to keep them separated.

I got a great deal on this ENERGIZER 2000 Watt Power Inverter so I am going to run it. The thing I have to figure out is what battery type and how many I am going to run at this point...... way to many options.
