Has anyone had experience installing a
Car/Auto PC with a touchscreen?
I am looking at this rugged system

With a Xenarc TouchScreen Monitor

I know I can just as easily bring my laptop or tablet pc but I was thinking of something more rugged and that could draw less/require less power.
I could have the flexibilty of running different Mapping/GPS programs depending on where I am and what level of detail I want. Also, running any windows PC software. I am into GIS Mapping using ESRI ArcGIS and Photo Geotagging.
I really like the
Centrafuse Car PC software http://www.fluxmedia.net/ It is on sale now for $125 wow that is a great price.
The Car PC/Auto PC can interface with the SMB

Maybe it is just overkill to dream/envision about a system like that. Currently, I just have the factory stereo and a Garmin GPS ( I share this with my other vehicles and my wife's car)
The other thing I really want to add to this setup is the
Kyocera Mobile Router http://www.kyocera-wireless.com/kr2-router/ -- insert a USB Cellular Modem from a Mobile phone company and share the connection. I like it better than the MiFi Type and other like it since it has a built in Firewall and has a Lan Connection to internet from a Campground or your house and A VPN Passthrough (I can connect to work) It has Fail-over capabilities for use as a conventional router with wireless EV-DO as a backup.
and is fully Compatible with Cable/DSL Modems
Another thing that is cool you can get a antenna booster -- I like the Hawkings Technologies
15db antenna booster.
http://www.hawkingtech.com/products/...=58&ProdID=152 I can be very far away from SMB like at a picnic table and use my desktop replacement notebook pc to do some work or trip planning
I plan on adding a
backup camera to the system.

The Monitor/Screen supports AV Inputs (RCA)
