Thanks for any info.

Hey,is cell phone boosters same as a cell phone blocker? If so,i think wireless is better.because it is portable, convenient for carrying and hiding.

Re: Cell phone booster
We have used Wilson cell phone boosters. Used them on two phones. Assume that means about six years over contract times. For the last several years though we have found no phones that have a antenna jack. Seems to be a feature of the past and now deleted from the designs. Have some of you been able to still find phones with jacks?? We have Verizon as our provider.
Not really interested in getting the patch that goes on the back of the phone. Understand it does not work as well as the jack. Have been reluctant to spend the $$$ for the wireless system. Specially since the phone must be held within inches of the receiver.

Re: Cell phone booster
Also the new Delorme PN 60 GPS with spot can send text messages over satellite via spot. Does not use cell phone. Whenever you have a view of the sky you can send text messages. It does not receive them so only one way. The Delorme GPS is a great product too.

Re: Cell phone booster
This is one of the reason I stay with TracFone, my Motorola V170 has an external antenna port, and I also haven't seen any of the new phones with the plug-in port.
I have a Wilson booster, and it works well for me.

Forget the "patch". I had one sent to me from Wilson and it does not work. I have my old Treo that has the jack, and I have activated the phone on my Verizon account for like $15/month for one month then cancel.
I just got the Motorola Droid and apparently there is a jack under the battery cover I was told could be jury rigged. Haven't had time to research yet.

Re: Cell phone booster
I just bought a Wilson Wireless Dual-Band Cellular Booster and it works great. I tried it at the Valley of Fire, where there is no cell coverage, and had the clearest reception I've ever had on my cell phone anywhere. It was great. I received all of my emails, talked to my clients in other states, and didn't miss a beat of work while I was enjoying the wonderful outdoors. Since I got a new client while I was camping, I would say the booster already paid for itself. Plus I think I'll charge all of the envious campers around me an access fee to stand by my van and make cell phone calls.

Re: Cell phone booster
I have actually had better service and range with my smoothtalker than with my wilson.

Re: Cell phone booster
Now you tell me about the Smooth Talker. I bought the Wilson Electronics 801212 Cell Phone Signal Booster Kit for Vehicle - 1 Pack - Case - Carrier Packaging - Neutral (see http://www.amazon.com/Wilson-Electronic ... 685&sr=8-1)
