Cell/WiFi booster?

Live in Colorado and most of the hiking I do there is limited service at the trailheads. I will be mounting this in my van to be used mainly in Colorado and Utah.
What is out there, if anything, that would give me better service with my cell phone and laptop.

For cellular service I hear the Wilson antenna is one of the best.

Several threads out there discussing cell phone boosters. Drop Wilson in the search bar. We run a Wilson 4g and have had good success.

I love my Wilson Booster, but be aware that you must be in range for it to "Boost" the signal.

As long as you aren't expecting miracles, the Wilson boosters work well - i.e. they can take a marginal signal and improve it, but not create a signal where there is none.

Does this increase the data speeds as well? If you have 1 or 2 bars, and are able to get 4 bars, does the speed increase as well?

Does this need to be hard-wired into the van? When we talked with SMB Fresno about this, they said it's best to install it before the build is finished because the headliner needs to come out. At first, I thought that made sense. But, if it fails, or there is a newer product available, then it becomes a major cost to tear everything out and remove it. So, I'm hoping to do an install that is less permanent in the event of a failure or newer product.

THANK YOU! That is what I was wanting to know.
Most trailheads I have zero service with T-Mobile, yet friends with Verizon or ATT have maybe 1 bar, sometimes. So would it be a safe assumption that if I have zero service with T-Mobile, a booster wont help....?

Correct. They amplify an existing signal.

Sprint and Verizon seem to have the best coverage out here in Colorado. It's why I dumped ATT. T-mobile uses many of the ATT towers.

I agree. I loved the coverage with Verizon. T-Mobile's coverage sucks, but, $70/month unlimited data and everything..... That's half of what Verizon was charging. Thanks again!

I have a Wilson 3G and 4G setup (two different amps and antennas).....as mentioned, it cannot amplify zero signal. That being said, it's all about gain, in db.

The various amps have different gain and larger antennas have more gain than smaller ones. IIRC my little 4G amp is 12db and the larger 3G amp is 20db....and the tiny 4G antenna is 3db-4db and the larger antenna is 5-6db. For every 3db increase in gain the signal doubles.
