Re: E 350 airbag disconnect

Just a tip for everyone too. You can unplug the seat belt pretensioner and reset the light, but usually if you unplug any airbags (seat, door or A pillar) and turn your ignition to "on" your air bag light will come on and you will have to go to the dealer to turn it off if you don't have a code scanner tool. Just FYI if you take your door panels or trim panels out/off.

I always figured that would earn you a seatbelt light. N/C is what in longhand?
Sorry, Normally Closed.
So the wires are connected/closed when the seatbelt is not in the clasp, and not connected/open when the seatbelt is in the clasp. So, just disconnecting the plug put's the circuit in a constant open mode, makes the circuit think the seatbelt is plugged in.

Re: E 350 airbag disconnect

This is a little off subject, but what I do to silence the nag alarm is just buckle the seat belt behind me. The van thinks I'm belted down so it's happy - everyone's happy.

I always use the seat belts when on the road but there are times like in a tight parking lot or crawling around obstructions when I want to lean out the window to see the wheels or swivel around to look out the back window.
