For those considering solar

http://www.technologyreview.com/Energy/18718/

I am having my SMB prewired for solar, and I have a friend/neighbor who is a solar engineer for SMUD who's going to help me get some cheap panels, but he sent this to me.

Apparently this company has come up with a (non-flexible) solution which allowes for either half the size panel, or double the output, depending on how you look at it.

Don't know if they'll have product ready in time and if it will fit right, but if it does, I'll bring back info.

Garage
SMB will put a plug so you can use a portable panel on the ground to point at the sun. Also I wish that I had a waterproof connector on the roof. I have a Yakama load warrior on top that gets little use. I plan to install a flat panel that will clamp to the rack when I dont need to use the rack...DaveB
