An elegant solution that's almost fool-proof!

Re: Ford Idle Control Module

I store mine under the passenger seat in a homemade cushioned / duct tape holster. It only come out maybe once a year for high idle / recharging purposes. Accessibility is the key for me.

Hey, that's not a bad idea: stash it in the van somewhere, if I need it for extended winching duty or something, I can pull it out and plug it in in 30 seconds...

Give me time, I'll figure out how to screw it up.

Yeah, I too could foul up a mess all by myself in quite short order as well!

I think Mark Twain once said: "nothing is fool proof because fools are so ingenious..............."

Does that make us ill-advised or simply geniuses in disguise?

This is great! I've been banging my knee on that PTO for 4 years. I've used it maybe 3 times. Now it lives in a plastic bag in the barn door storage with the winch controller.

While I was on a roll, I also removed the tow brake controller. Never used it, don't expect to.

The leg room is much better now; I can hardly wait to take a drive.
