Garmin 1490t
big screen
had it hard wired in at Best Buy
(BB did a great job, did Garmin, Viper alarm and new sterio with XM)
Great driving directions
Touch screen works IF you touch it correct
Still have not figured out how to plan a route on my computer
and upload
Called Garmin to:
determine how to do the map deal
how much memory the base unit has
---- they were worthless after 22 min on hold to get a rep
downloaded the "west" area topos
1) had to go on micro sim, had to be configured, did not do automaticly
2) topos on this are worthless ( so far )
Built in maps needed upgrade for 2010
I had to freaking PAY
i bought the lifetime for $119
downloaded
would not install because "out of memory"
had to download another garmin pgm that sends it to the microsim
that failed to load
so far:
OK to put in a address and route address to address
couldnt update maps
topos appear worthless
cant plan a map on my computer, upload and have back up paper map
could not get it to route me to joshua tree
cant figure out how to get map coordiantes in to get me to Anza this weekend
however:
it LOOKS very cool and i have a Female austrailian speaker
i am supprised this big company had what appears no cust svc and buggy software and a crappy to navigate website
( i am pretty darn computer savy FWIW)
