For $150, it seems like a good investment if it allows me to start the van from the house batteries. Especially when boondocking in the middle of CO or UT where jumping is not an option. I carried a jumper box this last time but it didn't have the power to turn the engine over. Hooked it up to a idling car and it started right up.

I hate electrical issues. Too many bad memories of my previous Land Rovers.

You can find the 1315-200 for $125.00, depending on shipping cost this may be cheaper.

Also something similar here ( not 200 Amp)

I have had the surepower for almost 4 years with no problems.

The good thing about buying from SMB is that you'll get detailed instructions on how to replace exactly what you have and where it is located. The SMB kit includes all the wiring and connectors.

Contact Peter, he is a great guy who will be glad to help you. He does get overloaded with all his duties at SMB, so be patient. You'll definitely be glad you got the kit from them, and thier assistance if needed too.

You could request that Peter email you the instructions in advance to make sure you're comfortable with the installation.
