Hella 500 HID conversion

The only complaint I had with the Hella 500's that was on our Aluminess bumper was that it was very under-powered. I found a way to convert the 500's to HID's for less than $40!!! Here is a step by step instructions on how to convert your Hella's. Let me know if you have any questions.

I purchase the H3, 35W, 5000K (which has a rich white light)

This is what's in the Box. 2 HID (H3), wires, 2 ballasts, and instructions.

Take the H3 Bulb out.

Drill an approx. 1" hole on the middle of the outer casing.

This is what the wiring looks like:
HID>Ballast>wires(+ & -) to the existing wires.

Carefully insert the HID bulb through the hole

Place the rubber seal on the hole

Use an angle or long nose pliers to gently bend the two prongs to keep the HID bulb in place

Replace the back cover and rewire the lights.

Enjoy.
Ray
