Help with 6V / 12V connectors (not technically SMB related... :D )

The pictured connector is an orange 6V connector on my kids' Kid Trax vehicles. The female end can be found on many cheap chargers. The male end can be found on the Schumacher TAH6V connector. What I can't find is just the connector ends male and female - everything is already built into a vehicle, charger, battery housing or the adapter (TAH6V).

Does anyone know what this connector is called, part number or where I can just buy them raw?

Alternatively a source for an easy 12v two wire plug connector that's similar (polarized male female connector that cannot be plugged in wrong no matter which parts you try to connect)?

The project is changing my kids Power Wheels type jeeps from 6V up to 12V without paying more than the original cost in upgrades. I'm happy to just cut the original connectors out if I can find some cheap easy replacement connectors.

I don't know what it's called but I better Mouser is where you'd get it.

I agree with 86Scotty. If you contact mouser with a picture there tech guys will tell you what it is. They are pretty incredible at ID’ing connectors.

I've seen connectors like that in car wiring harnesses, but I couldn't tell you what they're called.

If you cut the connectors out and attach new ones, I'd use Anderson PowerPoles. They're great in this kind of application.

Wish I could help. Really, I'm curious to know how the project turns out. I've been doing some thinking about the same thing. GL

My best guess from the picture would be Packard 56 Series Connector & Terminals

Hello, did you have a success of finding this connector? I bought a ride on toy for my boy and want to put 2 batteries in parallel keeping original connections.

Please, let me know, thank you! Be safe!

No, I bought Didamx brand Anderson Connectors off amazon and just rewired everything- batteries, chargers, and the pigtail that goes into the jeep. Just leave some wire on this last pigtail (battery side of the vehicle connection) and turn it into an Anderson-to-native. I cut my connector off near flush and had to soldier wires back in order to have a clean connection in the vehicle.

Currently waiting on two 12v 12ah batteries and chargers since my out of my 4 6v one wouldn't take a charge anymore. I also need to relocate because with the added powah the nose lifts when the girls take off- so the larger battery is being relocated under the front seat. Also external charging plug is a must... so sick of taking the seats off.

The anderson style is great, not sure I'd go Didamx again just because there were some issues seating the contacts inside- probably due to my poor manual crimping but they're so nice I'm going to do everything with them from now on. I also lost my original harnesses, rebuilt both in parallel accidentally and had to jumper to make it series, but it's nice because I could triage the dead battery by the side of the road with no tools.

Another vote for Anderson Powerpole connectors. They do a great job and are available in a variety of amperage ratings. If you're going to do a lot of them, the special ratcheting crimping tool is worth it, but you can get by without it.

These connectors are very popular with ham radio operators.
