That's OK. It does get confusing. It is interesting that the real common thing is the amount of power the battery stores. Roughly the same size battery: 6volts x 230 amps =1380 watts and 12 volts x 115 amps = 1380 watts.

I bought a Lifeline about 9 years ago, it still holds down a good charge. I drive the van regularly and plug in when I can.

I have also had awesome luck with Deka AGM batteries. I run two group 31's? and have bought several 'seconds', as in factory seconds, as in a non- warrantied battery that is brand new but has a cosmetic flaw or something. They are stamped 'second' but have worked great for me. The best part is they are only about $80 apiece.
I've gotten them from a place here called Taylor Battery Systems. I'm not sure if they are in other places in the U.S. but there are a few locations in my area.

I recently replaced my 7 year old Deka's with Lifeline's. I'm hoping to get another 7 years (at least) out of the Lifeline's.

Passenger side, under the barn doors.

Here's a write up on the watering system that makes topping off wet cell batteries much easier:

DosMars:

A number of us here are using AGM batteries purchased from Deep Cycle Battery San Diego

They are 175AH Alcatel-Lucent AGM batteries for $125......a lot of bang for the buck....and they will deliver to OC (and possibly Long beach) if you are buying a couple or if they are heading your way for someone else.

If these are of interest, go to the website, call the number and ask for Jeff.

One caveat: These are not standard automotive "group" sized batteries....they are a little smaller than a size 4D.

Deep Cycle Battery is a neighbor of Agile Off-Road, and we have been working with them for some time - they were at the shop today; we will be stocking their products soon and developing some interesting package deals.
