You say you have checked the water level of the batteries. Sounds like you found the problem but do you know how to use a hydrometer? It's a cheap easy way to test the level of each cell. Many times one weak cell pulls a battery down and the weak battery banked with another can bring its companion down. Not that you have that problem but one advantage of wet cell batteries is being able to pull the caps and check each cell on the batteries. A hydrometer also serves as a way to refill the batteries with distilled water rather than using a turkey baster.
