LED Lighting

Friday while visiting SoloMotor Sports in Azusa I was snooping around a San Dimas Sheriff Mountain rescue truck and came across some very well made 1 Watt Waterproof Luxeon LED exterior lights that were very unobtrusive and small . I asked if the Sheriff could turn a couple of them on and was suprised at the amount of usable light that they gave even during daylight , he then showed me a number of additional lights that were installed in useful area's and said that they were great on night rescues . Here is the companies web address www.roundeyes.com I e-mailed Peter at SportsMobile this information as he had expressed their desire to utilize LED technology in the near future .

I've lusted after their rock-lights for my Bronco for a long time, but can't justify the price, at least not yet. I bought two rubber coated tractor lights, and a relay for less than $20 for my rocklights. Maybe when I bash those up I'll go with the LED ones.

I replaced the filament bulb in one of my Maglights with a 3W Luxeon bulb. It's probably the first LED bulb flashlight that I've seen that can actually throw a beam a significant distance.
