Light option

Hi all,

I hope you had a good camping weekend.

I am thinking of changing the 3 interior light that I have in my GTRV. I do not really know where to start and what good option I do have.

To whom already changed their interior light, where did you end? Please share pictures.

Updated after good point fo BrianW - here is the picture

Thanks a lot

Bastien

Would help to post a photo of what you have now. Why/what do you want to change?

In my SMB I simply changed out all the bulbs to LEDs. Planning to do the same in my Traverse (which is basically the same as a GTRV).

The van's in the shop, so no pictures, but here's what we bought to replace the antiquated fluorescent fixtures in the penthouse top. I realize they're different than the picture in post 1, but this should offer alternatives.

Tecniq also has a nonswitched version - https://www.covertlights.com/tecniq-e32/

And the manufacturers website for a large selection of lights - Ceiling Lighting | Area & Accent Lighting | TecNiq Inc

There's also Peterson mfg for led lighting - Vehicle Safety Light| LED Lights - Peterson Manufacturing Company
and Peterson's catalog - http://www.pmlights.com/assets/pdf/pm2016catalog.pdf
Regards.

We use high-power LED Flashlights as supplements to our lighting...variety of sizes/shapes lumens etc...as bright as we would ever need and an extremely cheap alternative...magnetic, hooks, can put just about anywhere in van, point anywhere (at night we point to PH ceiling and a nice reflective light is achieved)

Anything over 3000k and I'm wearing sunglasses. 2700k is warm white.

West Marine or the Defender catalog. More DC light options than you could ever ask for.

Have fun.

Here's a link to info about converting your existing fluorescent lights to LED. I did it a few years ago and found it quite easy. And they are still working!

How To Convert Fluorescent RV Lights to LEDs - TheRVgeeks

Also, for lighting up those dark corners we love the Luci lights. Cheap, bright, and solar powered.

+1 for changing to super bright LEDs, which I also did in my GTRV.

It's been years and I don't remember where I ordered mine, but something like this might work: https://bit.ly/2HIHFVU
