SMBW says no problem leaving it up to the prosine and the description on the Xantrex site says the same.

We'll try it for a few weeks to see but for the long run I think I'll follow your idea and just run it every couple of weeks though to be safe.
My brothers rv has a crappy charging sys and always leaves him with a dead battery. Its a few years old and not the same though so he just disconnects and uses a trickle charger.
I guess we'll see if the xantrex sys is better in a few months.
