Low Battery and Fuel Gauge

I was wondering if anyone has experienced this. I accidentally discharged my starting batteries (left the infamous house radio switch on for 28 hours, shame on me) so I recharged it with my trickle charger for 5 hours and it started right up. But I'm now reading empty on the gas gauge and have the low fuel light. I know I had about 1/2 a tank because I parked it Thursday @ 5:00 and checked it before shutting it off because I'm putting a few hundred miles on this weekend. How weird, no indication I've been siphoned but it was parked on the street. I'll find out tomorrow morning when I fill up. I don't remember this little idiosyncrasy from similar times past. Of course diesel jumped 15 cents in 2 days here, that would hurt to lose 16+ gallons!

Re: Low Battery and Fuel Gauge

Fuel gauge came up to 1/8 tank after driving 1 mile. After filling it up it went to full. There was about 1/2 tank in there based on what it took to fill it. I vaguely remember this odd behavior another time.

Re: Low Battery and Fuel Gauge

I've filled up before and it took a few miles before it reached the full mark...don't know why
