Need assistance...Battery Drain possibly edge evolution?

Hi all, I just purchased a 2002 e-350 Diesel. It has the edge-15001 evolution programmer that I am not familiar with at all. However, my battery keeps getting drained and I have to jump it to start it in the morning. I'm wondering if this edge programmer could be the issue. After I shut the car off the edge unit stays lit and appears to be on. Is this common? shouldn't it shut ff when I turn off the car and take the key out? (the key is not in accessory mode when I remove the key.). Any insight on this is much appreciated.
Thanks- Mackenzie

Pretty sure I fixed it. In googling around I found another forum where someone had the same problem. The edge has a code error of 150 and for some reason it doesn't shut off when you turn off the van. I had to turn the key to "on" without starting the van. Then unplug the unit, wait about 5-10 seconds and plug it back in. The unit rebooted and the error code went away and when I turned the ignition to the off position, the edge display also shut off. Hopefully this will be the end of my battery issues.
