Re: New shore power extension cord?

Mammoth actually, but we drove here from Sacramento so passed real close to Tahoe!

GB, thanks for the detailed info. I know exactly what you mean and will give that a try.

Re: New shore power extension cord?

Rob here is are a couple of pics and how to wire it.

Hard to mess up. All the slots are different in size/shape and this plug is even marked. Just wire as GB said.

He just happened to have one laying around the truck with the wires on it? Nice Pics and they say a picture is worth a few thousand words.

Wow, thanks Dave. You are the SMB guru. Even I can follow those instructions. Will give it a try this weekend.

Re: New shore power extension cord?

I think Gooseberry has the technical info. Think of it as a forum group effort

Re: New shore power extension cord?

Rob ,
Be sure that you use 10/3 Insulated cord ! While you can get away with a 12/3 if plugged into a 15 amp household circuit it would serve you well to maintain the same size as called for by the RVIA . If you need any of the parts for repair remember that Benlos in Irwindale has everything that you might need .

Re: New shore power extension cord?

I've got to do this- my bro drove away while plugged into my house last year. 5 miles later we were flagged down with a road stripped cord, which I inherited a good chunk of- been meaning to make a backup shore power cable. He got all his replacement parts at Walmart before we even got home to discover the 110v adapter was 10' from the extension cord... we rebuilt half for him and the rest is hanging waiting for me to get around to it. Good thread!
