New Starter batteries installed at Walmart

I just had my starter batteries replaced at walmart. $197.00 for both installed. 3 year warranty. I wanted to go with the Odysees, but I started thinking about it, and decided that I would probably be on the road when or if I had battery problems, and when aren't you near a Walmart? For the price of the Odysees I can replace my Walmart batteries 3 times, that's 9 years worth if they only last as long as the warranty period.

Re: New Starter batteries installed at Walmart

Bought two of the super duper Die Hard Platinums 65 series (930 cca's!) for my '06 PSD RB50. No el fitto. The battery cables need to be where the molded in handle on top of the battery is. Ended up with a couple Motorcrafts. Only a lousy 850 cca.

Woe is me

More CCA's isn't always better. To get more amps, they use more, thinner plates. Usually that will mean less robust and shorter life.

I replaced mine with the same old 750 CCA battery as originally built.

Interesting. They were super heavy I know. They also had a four year replacement and 100 month pro-rated warranty. What else for $190 a pop!
