Well, it looks like I'll be sans passenger side lights for awhile. I tried removing some of the upholstered panels to access where I think the wire taps could be. Unfortunately, these things are like jigsaw puzzles - you have to remove 3 panels just to get to 1. Even after that, I think the first tap may be behind the wall itself, which I can't remove unless I disassembled cabinets, etc, etc...definitely more work than it's worth for now.

I was able to see two taps by removing the rubber gasket on the rear part of the side double doors. I could shine a flashlight in that gap and the two taps were pretty close and clear as day. But, these can't be the culprit(s) since the short signal is happening on devices before and after these taps. Once again, I think there is one tap at the very beginning of the run, as scalf77 said, probably right at the roof transition. But I'll be damned if I can figure out how to get back there without destroying something.

For now I'll be hanging my head in shame. I may try and dig through the panels to get back there when I'm feeling very ambitious, though I think patrick51 may be on to something and a rewire could be an easier solution overall.

Thanks for the input! I'll be sure to post an update if/once I get back in there!
