Photos of House Battery Mount

I've done some searching but haven't had much luck with finding photos of under van (behind rear axle) house battery mount. My Lifeline 4d AGM battery arrived today and I'm wanting to fab up the tray/bracket.
Any help would be appreciated
Edit to add: I'm open for any ideas on design. I hated lowering the battery on my 04 SMB. What a PITA.

On my build SMB just used angle iron and built a cage for each battery which runs between the frame. The batteries sit in marine battery boxes. I just wish I could make them lower easily. Right now I have to use a floor jack. I'll try to get a pic for ya.

I added a frame cross member to mount a hinged dual 4D batter tray behind the axle. Behind the battery tray is a water tank which utilizes another frame cross member. The stock one was cut out.

That's slick! It looks like it bolts up to the frame so its not adding any stress to the hinge while on the trail correct?

Since most of our batteries are usually in excess of 100 pounds wouldn't it be more efficient to place that weight in front of the rear axle instead of behind it?

Correct daveb. It bolts up at the hinge side and opposite so the hinges do not carry any of the battery weight. Just unbolt the 5 mounting bolts and pivot the tray downwards. The water tank carrier with skid plate does the same thing.

Bbasso, I think if you're talking about 1 4D battery at about 125lbs the weight is negligible in comparison to water and fuel tanks behind the axle. My setup with 2 4D batteries and 30 gallons of water (completely full) will weigh in at about 500lbs. Granted that is a lot of weight but consider that a 55 gal aft axle fuel tank would weigh in at about 330 lbs with gas or 385 lbs for diesel. So, one battery will not be noticeable.

Not a pic, but a concept I am working on to mount my 4D battery.

On my EB, there is a cross member just behind the axle. The Top Flange with the return would hook over that and then I would use an additional cross member to support the other flange that could be removed to drop the battery straight down. I am planning a 3D printed cover for the blades that screws into the top plate flange. The top plate will secure the battery with 4 3/8" bolts. the bottom of the box will have a cutout and padding to keep the battery from sliding around.

Design is still a tad rough. 1/8" formed Mild steel with welded on end caps. Ran it through a stress simulator and it's fine for that weight and more. Just my idea.
