Power for van

I purchased a used van last summer. Trying to figure out my camping power. I have two 4d batts located under the van with no way to charge. I want to upgrade my alt. and seperate it from the engine batts so it can charge all batts. Can i get some input?

brand alt. and size?
Inverter?
Maybe a solar back up charging hook up?

I plan on just having a fridge, some lights, and radio run on the system.

2000 7.3

Thanks Al

Re: Power for van

buddy

two 4d's properly charged and maintaind will
keep you in the boonies indefinatley

SMB?
who installed the 4D's
how are they charging now
how are they wired
do you have a built in shore power charger
do you have a isolator
are they charged
are they dead
budget

I would suggest:
pictures, even bad ones will help us
pics of wires, under rig, batts, etc
current charging statistics
current battery voltage

lets find out what ya have
then we can go from there

Re: Power for van

Half SMB. It was a pass van that smb put the penthouse top on and batteries. Both 4d's are dead and it is wired up to connect the two 4d's. Nothing else for power.I found the van on this site last summer. The previous owner didn't finish the project.

Does that help?

I'm ok with one batt. If that's all I need. On my iPhone. No pics with me.
