Power Window Fuse is gone! GOT IT!!!!

My windows are open and not working on my 07 RB-50. Not a good state to go anywhere. The ford shows fuse 42 to be the one. The owners manual diagram is here. So is a pic of my fuse panel. THey don't match! Fuse 42 is on the diagram and not on the panel anywhere. It's supposed to be the third (top) large circuit breaker along the edge where there are only two. What's this about?

Re: Power Window Fuse is gone!

Keep studying the book, and don't forget the other fuse box. There is one under the hood AND one under the dash. Ford fuse descriptions (in the manual) can get pretty confusing due to all the different factory configurations.
Been there a couple times.

Re: Power Window Fuse is gone!

Worst case would be to pull all the fuses one at a time to see which one is blown.

Re: Power Window Fuse is gone!

My wiring diagram book shows it to be fuse 2.43, at the bottom of the picture. Of course, my book is for a 2004, that stuff doesn't change much.

Or get a fuse tester for a couple of bucks and test them all in place.

Re: Power Window Fuse is gone!

Got it!! (nothing nicer than fixing a weird electrical problem in these beasts!!).

While the mystery of the different fuse panel and diagram lives on, it was not the cause of my problem. Years ago I hot wired the drivers door window control module to be always powered instead of only when then ignition was on. It was a constant pain to have to turn the key to open or close the windows when I was parked or camped. I needed a 12v always-on source and found it at the switch for the backup lights in the rear Aluminess. SMB puts in a manual switch in the pop off plastic panel below the steering wheel to turn them on anytime and they still function as backup lights when in reverse. I had tapped into the press on crimp connector and that tap in came loose. Did it right this time with all insulated snap in connectors.

Game over. Man!

Congratulations. It is not easy to remember all the custom electrical miss that can cause future problems/ghosts.
