Question for the experience RV'r about shore power

I am getting ready to some fluff camping at a couple of RV parks in Pismo & Big Sur, I have never stayed at a place with hookups and would like to know if any adapters will be needed to hook up electricity. My van has a 30 amp input, and I have the 30 amp chord (with a adapter for use with house 110). If the park has a 50amp hookup will I need an adapter?

Cheers,

Johnny

You should be fine. Most RV parks have a 30 amp recepticle and a standard 15 or 20 amp recepticle. Probably the best thing to do however is call or email the park and ask what type of hookups they have available.

The few I've been at have every type of outlet in one box.

I have Rv'd for years and every electric hookup box that has had 50amp has always had a 30amp or 15-20 amp plug as well. If you have an adapter for your 30amp to 15-20amp you should be covered. Some have 15-20amp only. Usally this only limits the use of an air conditioner.

exp. rv

I've always carried both a 30amp to 15/20amp and a 30 to 50amp adaptor. They've come in handy in family & friends driveways over the years. Even with solar they are good to have along, especially if you haven't wore out your welcome after a couple of days.
