Relocating Starting Batteries

I'm about to get under the van.... AGAIN.

It sucks that both of my starting batteries are mounted underneath on the frame.

Does anyone advise against building a box and mounting the starting batteries inside the van in the foot step?

Just make sure you have proper venting so you don't get flammable hydrogen gasses building up in your van.

That said.... Why are you replacing them so often? I haven't touched my frame mounted battery in about 5 years.

Thanks for the tip. I'll be sure to do that.

I had to get under once to change my batteries, then I got under to put new battery cables on, then to wire my light bar, now to run a cable from the alternator in getting to the batteries, and in the near future I going to wore a sound system. Also who knows what else I'll be doing since the can is still kind of newish (to me) and I'm constantly adding things to my to do list. The thought of being able to stand to deal with them to me is worth what ever trouble it takes.
