Tom,
Here are 3 of the pics of the battery box build...more to come. It's just 1/4" aluminum plate welded together to fit both 6V batteries. I drilled and tapped the frame rail on the driver's side 3 places just in front of the gas filler for 5/8" (or 1/2") fine thread studs and machined standoffs so the box does not interfere with the E-brake cables. A few little L-brackets hold the batteries down and some rubber toolbox lining pads the inside of the box. I also drilled several holes in the bottom just in case there was any moisture collection. It's been about 6 months now and is working great! This way I am able to run the high amp hour 6V batteries and not have to worry about outgassing inside the cab! I figured it was the best of both worlds. Plus the automatic fill is effortless! I check it every other month or so and only have to add a tiny bit of distilled water.
I am trying to find the "final" wire diagram I sketched up to post it here as well...if I can not find it, I'll just re-sketch it and post it.
