Smokin' deal - New 8D AGM $179 (no affiliation)

I want to upgrade my house battery before my upcoming baja trip. Just ran across this deal on Deka 8D AGM batteries for $179 + core here in SD. I don't know what they mean by new/blem. I called and they said they were out until Friday but that they will be getting more. If anyone is interested I can post when I go see what 'blem' means. Sounds too good to be true but I thought I would post in case anyone else is interested and can corroborate.

Maybe the case is discolored or something similar. Yeah, I sure would jump on something like that provided you could get some assurance that whatever the blem is, that it doesn't hinder the performance. Also I'd want to make sure the batteries aren't out dated and that the charge voltage has been kept up while in storage. I doubt there is a warrantee but maybe there is. Sounds like they are right off the line and didn't make the grade for some cosmetic reason. If it's looks only...Wow that's a low price!

Good points. I'm not so worried about sitting and discharging as AGMs sit pretty well as long as they were fully charged to begin with. I think they lose something like 1% a month, which is excellent, one of AGM's real advantages as I understand it. Still, $175 isn't $0, so I'll kick the tires pretty well.

I'll update the thread when I find out more.
