Solar Controller issues - help! John K.???

01 van w/ solar prewire (no panels yet...) Kyocera Solar Commander Series IV controller/guage

Everything has been working perfectly until the other night when I plugged into a campsite w/ hookups. Guage readout was 14.2 or so - pretty normal for when I'm hooked to shore power. After an hour or so the gauge went to 00.0 - 00.1. The indicator lights went to only the 'on' light being lit. When I disconnect everything still works fine and when the engine is running the gauge is still showing 00.0 - .1

Is there any sort of a reset or anything I should check ie fuses or loose connections?

I need everything working 100% for a 4 day camping trip w/ our 5mo old girl next week in the desert we won't have hookups or nothing, just a little bit of idling to keep the batts topped off.

Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

thanks in advance!

-derek

solar controller

Hello Derek,

There are a couple glass type fuses on the back side of the Mark IV Solar Controller.

Double check the connections on the back of the unit, under the sofa, and at the quick connect on the exterior (if there is one). Perhaps a loose ground or bad crimp is finally showing itself.

Email me if you have more questions.

Thanks,
John K.
