This is a pretty popular (and affordable) portable kit made by Renogy. You can make some quick connects for the engine or house battery or use the alligator clips to connect to the battery. Amazon.com : Renogy 100 Watts 12 Volts Monocrystalline Foldable Solar Suitcase : Patio, Lawn & Garden

I have 4 15 watt Goal Zero panels and their charger that I got on a Black Friday sale directly from them. I'm into it for like $150 total....works great. Having said that, their stuff seems to be a bit on the spendy side typically so finding a time when they are on sale is key. I also run a Yeti unit, the medium size one, along with two more batteries of similar size that I run in parallel for extra capacity. I got the Yeti from REI during their 20% off member sale. This is a great set up for me to power things when camping or traveling with them family. We both have the same interior I believe. I just keep the Yeti and extra batteries under the third row bench. I also use it when we have the occasional power outage in the house. Super versatile.

There are threads after threads on the forum for solar panels. Use the Search function, and set aside few hours and you can get tons of info.

Garage
Depends on the vehicle. I have a remote waterproof 12v power plug at (below) the rear tail light on the passenger side of the vehicle for my portable solar panel. Ties into the controller like the roof panels. On my 06 diesel all the batteries are difficult to get to. If the setup you're buying has its own controller you can connect it to several spots...the closer to the house battery the better.
