Close-Up Animals with a Wide Angle Lens Wearing Hats?

(PS. I've never been so aware of my photographic inadequacy... )
Animals wearing hats, the wide angle lens wearing hats, or you wearing hats????

Re: What Camera does everyone use? Pics

Not a bad camera... but I think you should get a wide-normal... 28-105 lense... that has stabization... as well as a 85-305 lense.. (least that is what we used to call them in the film days) and you should have all the bases covered... and get some really good shots... that are keepers... remember though that the media that you save 'em on.. doesn't last forever... and while they will last a couple of years before degrading... down.. you can always transfer them to film.. which today is still the better long life media... but are difficult to show... because most good OLD projectors are gone today...

Good luck in taking great shots.. make sure you post some here for all to see... as you know the best critics are the ones that are on the web.. grin

Also I would suggest that she and you... take a on line course... showing the way the camera works... as film was the standard and digital is now... they are similar but different.. and you can do so much more with digital... I suggest you play around with the camera at home.. make up a little movie.. using the microsoft program (live movie maker...) as it will show you how to put the slides and movies into it.. for presentation... (their are lots of stuff on the internet on how to use it.. including microsofts own... so its fun but... work ... and its not like you can just dump it in... and come out looking like a red rose... it takes practice... as well as you can narate- add- music.. etd... just like the big guys do... all while having fun.. too... check it out...

If you're looking to do landscape photography on your trips, no SLR will beat the 21 megapixel Canon 5D II. Pair it with the 24-70 f2.8 L zoom and you're set.

On my Sony a-350, I'm using a Promaster XR-EDO 18-200 that works well for me. Not a high end lens but more middle of the road similar to the camera.

Re: What Camera does everyone use? Pics

Have been using a canon point and shoot SD870, been very happy with the picture quality, a few years old now so newer ones have come out. Just bought the wife a new DSLR for her b-day coming up, a Canon EOS T2i package from Costco, came with 2 lenses a nice everyday and a telephoto and a bag and other goodies. Did some research and seems to get very good reviews from all the sites.
