Where is Avital temperature sensor?

My Avital alarm system reads the temperature in the van on the key fob, but I've recently found that the actual reading is much different than the inside temperature of the van. It rockets up when parked in the sun (15º in 5 minutes) which makes me think it's under the windshield or in the hood or fender. Meanwhile the van temperature stays the same (about 91º vs 110º)

I'm guessing it is something like a wired temperature sensor, just a cord and end bit, but I really don't want to go tearing around in the dash. Anyone know where a likely place to look is? Anyone located or moved theirs?

How about taking the top of the dash apart... any advice?

Re: Where is Avital temperature sensor?

I found my alarm antenna receiver when I had the windshield replaced. It was tucked up between the trim and the windshield along the drivers overhead. Perhaps the temperature sensor is part of the antenna receiver.

Re: Where is Avital temperature sensor?

My antenna is mounted on the glass right in that corner of the windshield... it would certainly explain the temperature readings if that's the case.
