As mentioned AGM's don't need a vented box..they are completely sealed. You can run them laying on their sides if you want.

They will vent gas if overheated...that degrades them...but they don't liberate gas in normal use.

The weight of the battery on that side won't be noticeable. Will a battery not fit under one of the dinette seats? Those are usually storage in most RVs I've seen.

Took a quick look

One dinette has water tank
Other 1/2 filled with some box
(Will identify)

Other half has a criss cross 2 inch Steel brace blocking the open space

Will take photos

I'm pretty sure I can find a guy to cut that stuff out and make a steel frame versus crisscross that would leave open space for a battery. Not enough room though for a 4d

I could fit a group 31 in there and then another group 31 under the dinette

Giving me 200 amp hours

The amount of space and the dinette would be the same used

I think I would rather free up the space and the dinette for an inverter and probably the solar controller

Then place the 4d Under dinette

Scotty:
Stumbled onto your photo album
In ancient times you build a rack to sling a battery underneath

I've got room to do that

But being is I have to farm it out
Will add additional build time

My goal is to be on the road using the rig the soonest possible even if it's for daycamp in for overnight trips with my baby girl

Being a single dad AND running a business
Leave me virtually no spare time

I still have to find a solar installer

So far here's what I've determined

Refrigerator
Replacing with truck fridge

Solar
I need about 300 watts

Battery
I need another 2 to 300 ah

Installer to be found

Battery location to be determined

Components I'm not too worried about
I'll probably go with the blue sky products

Inverter
Don't think I need one because I have
The generator and the only thing that I would use it for is the AC and the microwave

Feel free to poke holes in my current plan

I think Scotty or Ron Should come here and just get the work done for me. And Dave can keep them warm with his campfire in a can. [emoji3][emoji3][emoji3]

Lol! Wish I could help you. You shouldn't have too much trouble finding someone to weld you up a battery box where you are. I'd be surprised if someone on the forum here can't help or recommend the right guy.

I agree, no inverter needed. The generator replaces it and then some. We have to run our generator on occasion but have mostly just updated everything that used to be AC to DC (electronics chargers) so we rarely need the generator except for microwave or rooftop AC.

While you're taking measurements etc. take a measurement of your fridge. I'm curious which one you have and whether a TF130 would be a direct replacement for you.

I've got it written down someplace but think TF130 is too big for that spot

Current fridge is 4 ft.³

The truck fridge I'm looking at is this 4.2 ft.³

I actually might gain some space under the fridge for like a 6 inch drawer
