Zamp Solar Contoller

I have a Zamp solar controller in my van and I was wondering if there was a way to turn it off when it is not needed (like sitting next to the house waiting for the next trip). Or do I need to turn it off?

I have searched all over for answers and I cant seem to find any. With all the knowledgeable people on here, I was hoping someone can help me out.

No need to turn it off. The solar system will keep the batteries topped up. Probably the only way to turn it off is to pull the fuse or disconnect it from the batteries.

^ But, you don't want the panels connected to the controller without the controller being connected to the battery, so you'd have to disconnect them as well.

I agree with Larrie. There's no need to turn it off. Assuming you have the ZS-30A controller, it has a float stage that will keep your batteries topped off while they're sitting there and maintain them at a safe level to maximize battery life.

You can verify that your batteries are in the float stage if the green light is ON next to the full battery icon, and the blue light is OFF next to the lightning bolt icon.
