46 Gal Transferflow Diesel fuel tank

From at least 2007 and newer, SMB West has done "something" to change the fuel tank vent. Doesn't seem to be a problem with the new ones. I knew about this fueling hassle when I ordered mine at the end of '06 and was assured the problem was taken care of, and it was. Older tanks need to do the mod. No point having a 46 gallon tank if you can't use it. At my age, I can't afford to spend any extra time waiting around to fill the last six gallons....

A little off topic, but -

I've seen many references to age on this forum. I'm guessing since SMBs are a little pricey (compared to a tent) that maybe our average age is 50+ (62 here) and not too many in the under 30 crowd. I know I couldn't afford more than a tent and motorcycle travel 20+ years ago and now I don't feel much like sleeping on the ground (or getting out of a tent in the middle of the night).
