AC Compressor Help

Hi, I have 1995 Dodge Sportsmobile camper. The AC compressor in the back is bad. My truck AC works when engine on, the rear AC works when engine on (but leaks water), and the AC does not work at all if plugged into 110. My regular RV guys say it's the compressor but not in their wheelhouse to replace it. Does anyone know if that part is still available anywhere and if there is any mechanic in central FL (Tampa area preferred) who could help? Thanks!

Are you talking about a Danhard/Starcool A/C or just Dodge van rear A/C? If it is leaking water as well, likely something else going on as well.

The search function works pretty well. When asking for help, being specific as possible is beneficial.

There is some information on this thread, both in terms of the system and compressor replacement for 110.

Can't provide a recommended shop. You might call around to ask RV repair places. Some people have found regular shops doing A/C work that will work on their van too.

Besides an RV shop, you might also look for businesses that repair and maintain AC systems on semi's, heavy duty trucks, and heavy equipment that commonly have remote add-on AC's.

Thanks for that tip. My RV guys can't do it, the auto guys can't do it. My home AC guy is interested to give it a try! But I like the idea to look for the heavy machinery mechanics. Thanks.

Bus Air Conditioning Service Centers- Trans Air Manufacturing

Look for a place that services limo bus fleets.
