Nice List

With SMB now going to ARB springs are you sure you need the extra leafs?

On the Brake upgrade, do you mean the new Ford upgrade or one of the Brakman upgrades?

On the solar. With 2 panels now and more in the future I assume you are mounting side by side. Will you be able to utilize the full length roof racks? Any shade/shadow concerns with the posts and pillars on the panels?

Good questions...

SMB knows we want no future sag. The leaf is there in case they feel it is needed. The trouble is that this change is most easy when done with the 4wd work.

The brakes are the new upgraded brakes that come with the SMB 4x4 and requires 17 in wheels.

The first two panels will be mounted using the yakima tracks as will the KVH behind it. With wiring below we expect no shadow problems.

Are you having SMB install the Ballistic film or another private installer? Wondering if this is a 3M automotive product or is it the type for commercial building applications? If its on the two power windows, will there be any problem with it delaminating when the windows are raised and lowered? I have had the commercial film installed on building windows before and they hold it back about 3/8 " from the edges.

Re: Build Review "Electric Water heater'

After three [3] years of non use we had our Electric Water heater removed in favor of storage and possibly a future gray water tank.
We heat water in the microwave for cooking, coffee, and cleaning as needed.
Measure the sink and you'll see that a quart size [eared] drinking jar will provied all hot water needed for dishwashing, spongebathing, etc.

"Are you having SMB install the Ballistic film or another private installer?"

SMB will outsource this. It is my impression that they outsource many things that are not their core competancy

"Wondering if this is a 3M automotive product or is it the type for commercial building applications? "

I don't think there is a specific automotive product, but the commercial product has been used in automotive application.

"If its on the two power windows, will there be any problem with it delaminating when the windows are raised and lowered?"

It is my impression that there is no problem since this has been used in automotive application.

WOW, have you been reading my mail?

Looks like we almost had the same van built, I pick mine up tomorrow Friday Nov. 30th. We grabbed the last 2007 SMB had in stock. I didn't care for the new front end lights on the 2008's.

remember of all the paths you take in life........
make sure some of them are dirt

Thanks,
Fred
