Not sure what you mean by "normal load" but we are usually around 10,500lbs loaded for a 4-8 day trip including, dog, bikes, 40 gal. water, beer etc.
Bone dry our Ford E350 EB50 weighs in at 9,400. It's a fatty for sure but still gets better milage than my Xterra (12mpg) when it's loaded.

Re: Chevy Express Conversions

I ask because I'm wondering if I need a 1/2, 3/4, or 1 ton van. I'm not so worried about the fuel economy as over loading the vehicle.

Re: Chevy Express Conversions

Get a 1 ton and then you need not worry.

Re: Chevy Express Conversions

I have a 2000 Chevy express 4x4 Quigley. It currently has a spring under the front axle. I sould like to do a spring over. I was wondering if anyone knows if there is a aftermarket pittman arm for the steering box mounted vertically. The pittman arm goes straight up and down not horizontal. Or has anyone got a solid axle springover van.
