Econoline Front Door Interchangabilty

Hello everyone. I own a 2003 E-350. It has power locks, power windows, and power mirrors (power mirrors aren't used due to towing mirrors being installed.) Front doors and interior panels are beat up pretty bad. I have a friend with a 2009 he's parting out. Front doors are flawless including inside panels. They have power windows and power locks. My question is will they fit? Doors and hinges? Will the electrical harnesses just plug right in..? At the very least could I just do newer 09 interior panels? Will my current door electrical harness/plug work? Can anyone help me out?

Thank you

i think the plugs do not fit. I took newer mirrors on my 2000 and the plug was different.

As with any part swap or exchange, put them side by side and match 'em up.
For the electrical, Ford made many changes through the years but it's a 12v system so in the end, if patient you can get it to work.

Physically, the doors will fit, I'm almost certain. I very seriously doubt if the plugs are the same. Wire colors probably aren't universal either knowing Ford. The door panels are very easy to pull off and that will expose all plugs. About 5 screws after you pop off the black triangular trim inside the mirror, the power window switch trim and the door handle trim. Don't forget the screw hiding at the bottom of the door, just one. Door panel pulls up and away (it's on hooks) when you have all screws out

Lol Ray, I just did one the other day. I had to remove and repair the mirror on my brother's motorhome after I knocked it clean off replacing an awning fabric.

Physically the doors are direct swaps---it was model year 2003 Ford's door mounted mirrors used the 4 bolt mounting. So you're good there.

You can swap the electrical wiring harnesses and connectors from your existing 2003 doors into the 2009 doors. I don't recall how the 2009 interior panels differ from the 2003 but they will probably be similar enough that the switch mounts would be compatible with one another.

All latching hardware including will interchange as will the door lock cylinders---you'll want to swap those from your 2003 into the 2009 doors to maintain just one key for entry.

FWIW operation is the same, wiring colors and locations within the wiring harness connector shells does change between some years but that's not a huge problem. With the help of proper schematics of the two years you can "repin" or change wire locations in the connector shells to achieve correct operation of PDL's, PW's etc.

This is all great feedback. I'm going go get everything this weekend. I'd assumed it would come down to rewiring the connectors.

Thanks Everyone!
