Extenda Flow/Stay option
Can anyone recommend this option? It was described to me as a way to attach an external propane device such as a stove or a campfire to the van's internal propane tank. It would also allow me to refill the inside tank from an external tank. I can see where this could be handy and at $129 it seems like a drop in what is turning into a really big bucket, but I am not sure I would get enough use from it. Any comments on this?

Re: Extenda Flow/Stay option
Its a really cool option. We had it on our rig for BBQ's and propane campfire without having to worry about bringing an extra propane tank!

Re: Extenda Flow/Stay option
I like the idea
cost effective
i dont like the thought of a long ass propane filled hose running under my van to the passenger side
currently we use a Colman propane canister type outside
i was going to get a single burner to save a little space
(and besides they look so cool )
but the Coleman DOES have the wind screen...
and will give the Volcano Stove a test on the 26th

Re: Extenda Flow/Stay option
Do it . I'm doing it in case I need it, and i say that's a good price for the flexibility it provides.

Re: Extenda Flow/Stay option
Is this available on an existing SMB? I have propane supply for furnace, water heater and stove already, but am looking for a way to get rid of the Colman bottles.

Re: Extenda Flow/Stay option
I believe it is available for an existing SMB, but the cost is more since there is more labor involved. Best to check with SMB to be sure. I can see that this would be useful to me, so I am adding it to the build.

Re: Extenda Flow/Stay option
"Refill the inside tank from an external tank" seems dubious to me. I know you can fill those little green propane bottles from a 20lb portable if you turn it upside down, but this seems more like filling your tires with the air from your spare... it will work, but the tires don't get very full.
Also you shouldn't run your propane to empty in the first place, so... well please explain, I'm curious how this works.

Re: Extenda Flow/Stay option
Just to add more verbage on this topic - I don't have cooktop inside but i have propane furnace. So I'll be using a small portable stove. I think it's prudent to be able to hook up portable stove to the alrdy available propane tank in my SMB in case I run out of propane on the portable.
What I've asked SMB is if they can also "tee" off inside on the valve/whatever going to the furnace so that i coulkd hook up the portable inside my SMB if I needed too. They thought that was interesting idea and are looking into if they can do it without violating some RV industry standard.

Re: Extenda Flow/Stay option
The Extenda-Stay is awesome. It is one thing we use almost every time we camp.
We're on our original propane fill from SMB, with dozens of weekends under the stars and cooking both 2 burner partner stove, or BBQ with a 20' propane hose. Like most here, we prefer to cook outside the SMB, unless the weather won't permit.
It's the best $100+ upgrade SMB offers imo.

Re: Extenda Flow/Stay option
I understand the use for long term stay.
The other use is to run a hose to a portable grill
If I don't have the firering, why wouldn't I be good with a port stove and a small green bottle?
Am I missing something ?
