Why people are paying 5-10 times more for AC/DC refrigerators?
Built in mounting
no need to run inverter (and inverter losses) when not plugged in
latching door
several sizes to choose from
top load/front load
etc.
Truckfridges start at $400 for a small top loader and $500 for a TF49 front loader
I'm considering either the Isotherm Cruise 165 or Isotherm Freeline 115 Elegance.
Capacity (1+ week of food) and a good freezer are the most important properties to me. The physical size of the refrigerator is of secondary importance. This is for an SMB entering production next week for a High-Roof, Extended-Length Ford Transit, so there is room for either Isotherm model. I'd go with the smaller sized Isotherm Freeline 115 Elegance in order to gain some extra cabinet storage if the food capacity and quality of the freezer were adequate.
Can anyone with experience with these two models comment?
