Yesterday I handed the keys over to Jeff (jeffscharbor).

Final thoughts:

I never did get around to posting the final build pictures. Here you go:









The achilles heal was the plenum you can see above the car seat was just too restrictive for the factory a/c to put out sufficient cool air to overcome the Arizona sun. Additionally, I think we would have been better off with a fixed top to give better headroom for the Sprinter bench seats. Ah, if only money was no object...

Ultimately, I should have taken Alan's (SMB West) advice when we first got started. He suggested grabbing a 12 passenger van and converting it to 4x4. Bottom line: we need a people mover.

I certainly appreciate all the help I received from the members of the forum along the way! Thanks to everyone that takes the time to contribute!

Here's to Jeff as he and his family start their SMB adventure!
