The original plan of her sleeping on the gaucho with me in the PH didn't work out due to her sensitivity to the noise of the refrigerator at night. I added insulation around the reefer -- we've started "supercooling" it in the evenings and turning it off at night. This has worked well.

It's difficult to anticipate every possible detail, but just thought I'd add our experience, FWIW.

Oh, so you are able to use the drivers seat to extend the bed effectively? I was wondering how that would line up, great intel!!! It is so rare that I wish I were shorter, but this sure is one of those times!

Re: New 2014 Quadvan heading to California for a RB34 Buildo

It looks like my questions list is growing fast!!
How do you handle leveling?

What about 'take-off parts', does SMB keep them or do I get them? (Seats, bumpers, etc)

I did not get an SMB 4x4, can they still put in the larger tank? Does anyone have an idea of cost for that?
Ideally with some sort of port to refill portable generator with.

Need shore power interface, will that also charge the house+starting batteries? Is there a trickle charger built into that somewhere?

Screened in awning area? I saw some posts about that, but need more info. One thing I do know, the Mrs doesn't like mosquitos, so that is likely pretty important.

What are reflectix liners, are they worth the additional cast? (how much is that cost?)

Are additional captains chair(s) removable?

On RB37, will the 9" cushon fit between gaucho and drivers seat?

Anyone use one of these fridges? http://www.engel-usa.com/products/fr...ote-compressor
I am considering taking out the stove and having one of these put in its place. Gives me good counter space and a better fridge?

I assume SMB only uses LED lights internally these days?

The black one you posted as your inspiration is so awesome. Can't wait to see how yours comes out.

I'm pretty sure the third captains chair you are having installed can be removed. At least almost every SMB that I've seen that has rear captains have been removable.

Quadvan has the exact same fuel tanks and installs them so you've got options.

Good news for sure!! with 46 gallons, I should be able to get out around the block a few times!

Duly noted, does anyone have a tap in their fuel tank to let fuel out for filling gas cans, generators, etc?

The interior of your "inspiration" rig (surfgeek33's old rig) has a nice layout that puts the 3rd captain's chair on the driver's side, but it may not work in your RB.

OK, here is the current draft layout. Still trying to figure out if I want a builtin fridge or not

I wish my van had a built-in fridge. At the very least, I would recommend a dedicated location for a portable fridge.

Yes, good point, if no built in fridge, then definitely a fridge spot will be saved!! Thanks!!!
