My van is the one that was accidentally left in Fresno..... :(

Ahh, well, completion in the middle of October is a little early for us, anyways, since the kids don't have a week off until Thanksgiving.

Compared to scootin around in my car...it is huge!...and drives huge too.

msponer....Paul mentioned that he just dreaded giving you the news about your van not making the trip down. I don't think I could be as patient as you seem to be...which is a good thing. I would have probably gone off the deep end!lol

It just blows me away that a van could be left behind. It's not like we're talking about forgetting where you put your cell phone or sunglasses.

I'd recommend keeping in very frequent contact with SMB to make sure they understand the importance of having your van for the time around Thanksgiving.

Congrats, now comes the hard part wondering if you need this or that. At least you got to drive yours around...must have felt good.

msponer I guess the thread title now applies to you big time. O-the pain

Dang... I was over at SMB TX today and I chatted too long and did not have a chance to walk through and see what was being built. I did notice one other Austin van visiting for the day, and a giant silver Sprinter.

I will have to head back over next week and check them all out.

My van finally arrived in Austin, and construction started last week. It will be completed in the last week of October or early November, when I'll road trip it to San Diego. The delay from missing the truck from Sacramento has turned out well, since my family is moving during the original delivery date. This will be a garagable pueblo gold E250 2WD R50 van, and I am keeping my fingers crossed that there hasn't been a miscommunication on any of the details or options.

Awesome. That's so cool you can drive it through different phases of the build. Looks like a E350 limo without glass. Amazing the difference. Glad yours wasn't the one that was left behind on delivery.

= no SMB on the 13th (original pickup date) I stopped in Austin this morning on my way back from Chicago and was told try back on the 27th. That should put me right around 8 months of waiting...will the pain ever end?

That's harsh.

Now you go back and forth in your mind about how much of a PITA you want to be. Do you keep pushing them, and they start to take shortcuts and/or get sloppy, or do you bite your tongue and tell yourself to give them all the time they need to do it right? Maybe you can sweet-talk them into throwing something else in (Expedition kit maybe?). Just keep telling yourself it will be worth it in the end whichever way you go. Good luck.

Well the restless days and restless nights are almost at an end but this is probably going to be the longest weekend ever. I head over to Austin Monday morning to pick up my ride....and I am stoked!

...stoked? Is that word still used these days or am I just showing my age?
