...get a CCV top....similar $$, better in a number of ways......

Wider bed 52" vs 39"
Option for DIY install
option for insulated canvas
All of them are electric (not an upgrade)
At least two heights to choose from

I was all set on CCV. I liked everything you mentioned, and the fact that you can pick the color of the canvas. Lots to like about CCV....

Until my research revealed the following:
COLORADO CAMPER VAN LLC-**Do business at your own risk**

COLORADO CAMPER VAN LLC-**Do business at your own risk** - Expedition Portal

After all that, I was like, no way on GGE I would ever drive to Colorado, fly back home, fly back to Colorado, and then drive home with a top that may or may not work properly, then deal with bad customer service.

If anyone has more info on the quality of their work (good or bad), please feel free to post up or PM me.

I would remove that air deflector that is mounted to the front of the top to check and make sure it is not distorting the shape of the top. If that is not the case then the top was not trimmed to match your vans roof. In that case the front latches will not draw it down. You could re fiberglass the front and trim it to fit.

Thanks for posting up. Good to know there are some happy campers with CCV tops. How quiet is the top compared to before? Road noise, wind noise, etc?

Also, it appears you changed out the SMB penthouse top for the CCV top. Id be interested in your opinions as to the differences between the two?
