Re: SMB Cutaway Project?

Thanks Dave. I look forward to your pics and write-up.

I agree...6" will make a big difference, especially in galley space and sleeping quarters.

Re: SMB Cutaway Project?

A quick search brings up this:

http://allterrainwarriors.com/about.html

Apparently called All Terrain Warriors USA. Definitely look better than the Fuso thing they have in Fresno...

Re: SMB Cutaway Project?

Really? They look fairly similar to me. All Terrain Warrior USA is SMBW.

This is the one in Fresno right now:

It will be designed differently on the inside and they are doing something about entry.

Re: SMB Cutaway Project?

After my post I actually looked at some of the other pix and noticed what it looked like with the top raised up/back and realized that, yes, it was the same. I was fooled by the pix of it closed...

Re: SMB Cutaway Project?

Any updates? Where's daveb?

Jonathan told me that they are working on this and said it would be a few months before anything was announced.

I can't help but wonder if they'll offer a cutaway 4x4 with the 5.4, as the 5R110W is standard in the cutaway chassis with both engines...

Any updates?

It's hard enough making a decision on a van but then this concept comes along and it sounds neat to have a bit more width in the living area (the body molds are supposedly 3-6" wider than a stock E-Series?).

Re: SMB Cutaway Project?

It's set up with SMB but I'm waiting for a new camera. Should be in this or next week. I just didn't want to make a video with a fish eyed go pro camera

Not the cutaway project, but there are lots of photos of the SMB Fuso production rig over on ExPo:

Yeah, that's an interesting project too. A bit larger in physical dimensions than I'd be looking for, but a cool concept none the less.

I'm a bit put off by the current iteration of the Fuso due to it's lack of a low-range transfer case. T
