Re: SMB West Factory Visits

Bill,

We just went into production so if you see a 2012 silver RB Ford (212001F), you might scratch it behind the ears and tell it we'll be there soon. Pics would be great, too, if you had the time. Say hi to Nick for Joyce & Don if you see him. Thanks.

Re: SMB West Factory Visits

I saw the Nissan build but didn't take any pictures. 'Fraid it would break my camera....
That is one really homely vee-hickle. Even the guys at SMB who work on 'em think they're not too pretty
The high top just exacerbates what is already an ugly duckling.....
I apologize in advance for offending any Nissan fans.

The Nissan looks like a combo of the AMC Gremlin, the dumb Smartcar, and the AMC Matador. 3 of the ugliest cars ever built.

I always like the angular lines of the Gremlin. The Pacer on the other hand, except for its revival due to Wayne's World, should never had made it to production.

Hey Jage, I visited SMB West in September and took some photos. I'll post as soon as I find some off-road time - maybe in a couple weeks.

The Nissan is in there, but it was not a complete build yet so no interior to display. The biggest problem I see with it, besides being without a 4WD option, is the front seat aisle being blocked by OEM stuff (portion of tranny and storage box?).

EDITED: See photo posted on 09OCT11.

Dumb Ugly Smartcars?
I don't get it, I think its rather handsome myself. They wizz down the highway at 70, and only take up a half parking space.

I remember when I bought my '08 Ford SMB with the new grill change and everyone thought that was an ugly duckling. Same thing happened when I bought a Toyota Prius. Everything has its place including the Nissan (just not in my front yard).

Just my 2 cents.
